
William Phoenix is an award-winning director and producer from North Hollywood, CA. Working in scripted and unscripted projects, Will’s credits span across film, television and ad campaigns.
His producing credits include the first season of HBO's award-winning television series We're Here (2020), a set of New Balance campaigns Beyond the Run, and the second season of the AppleTV+ series HOME (2022); directing and producing the fifth episode Long Island: Sag Harbor. The series was produced by A24 Films and won the Daytime Emmy ® for Outstanding Directing Team for Single-Camera (Non-Fiction). He later would produce and direct Netflix’s docu-series SEC: Any Given Saturday (2025) and the Paramount+ series 5-Star (2025).
Will’s narrative shorts have screened and won at major festivals. Sunny Side Up (2022) screened at the Austin Film Festival and won Best Short at New York Film Week. While at New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts, he wrote and directed High Hoops (2016), which won Best Short at the Revolt TV Film Festival and was later selected as a Short of the Week and Directors Notes. More recently he produced Learning English (2024), screening at SXSW, Tribeca, and later becoming a Vimeo Staff pick and Short of the Week.
In 2025, he was named one of 25 Screenwriters to Watch by MovieMaker Magazine. He is currently producing a new Paramount+ college basketball series, Made for March, and is in post-production on his debut narrative feature.
